Nuit Blanche 2010

For the past five years, Nuit Blanche is a great all-night out event in Toronto with contemporary art all over the city. Its free and there is lots to see.

Random Blue Glow Piece with fog light. Reminded me of a highschool dance

Some art pieces make you go… WTF? and some are actually very interesting and just neat to see. This was my second event and it was Chris’ first. He expected something very grand but was disappointed. Regardless I think its a great night out and boy, was it packed!

This piece was fun. It was a ball made from intertwined metal tubes and you can speak to one end of the tube and the sound will travel to the other side. It was like playing broken telephone and everyone tried to match up one side to the next.

Trumpet Ball

The next piece was funny. At first, we were like wtf is going on but when we read the description, it was a good concept. There was 60 dancers in this circle. Each dancer represents a second. So it was acting like a human clock. One dancer will do a one minute solo while the others next to her does almost a ‘wave’ kinda of thing for one second. Chris noticed the dancer in the blue hood was so lazy and didn’t put enough effort into her second of dance. He/She (we weren’t sure) just stood up lightly and sat back down. We were curious to see what his/her solo would be but we didn’t stick around.

The Royal Conservatory of Music had a pretty light piece.

We wanter to a night market. The lights were cool and pretty but the actual stalls were meh… except for the Creative Zing stall.

We explored the secret lower bay station. I like pretty lights they added but there is something eerie about a hidden secret ttc station!
