Horseshoe Resort Adventure Park
Last winter at Horseshoe Valley Resort, I had noticed these ads to roll down a hill inside a huge plastic ball called Zorbing or OGOing. I thought it looked interesting and some new to try. It wasn’t until a group buy popped up that prompted me to go try it out.
My co-worker, who had gotten the group buy and already went before, told me to arrive early because when she went around 10-11, the zip liner was fully booked since it was a reservation system. She was right! We arrived exactly at 10 (when the park opens) and a massive line started, right after us… it was fully booked until 6pm by 11am. I strongly advise getting there around 9:30 to avoid lines and you can enjoy stuff right away. If you want to enjoy the zipliner more than once (since the vouchers were “unlimited” then I suggest a weekend because you cannot book more than once until your first ride is done).
Michee and Rich was there before us so they were already climbing and jumping. Once Chris and I redeemed our voucher, we went on the Euro bungee since the line was still short. It was so much fun but a hard workout too! I could feel it in my tights. I tried a flip and just bounced like crazy for a few minutes.
Next I went for the rock climbing wall. I’ve rocked climbed before but this time, no one is belaying me below and just letting go is creepy! Once I overcame that fear I made it to the top.
We had friendly game of mini golf after which I started out strong with a hole in one but then Chris beat me.
Our giant zipline ride was next. We got up there via the chairlift and it felt runny riding it without our snowboards. The zipline isn’t scary at all and it is a gentle ride. I thought it could have been faster. I still preferred the tree trekking ziplines more (more fast!)
We grabbed a bite to eat after and headed to the red horse maze. So this timed maze requires you to find the letters M, A, Z, E and then exit. It was enjoyable and hard! We were competitive and I got screwed by walking for at least 2 mins only to find the exit… At this time chris found all the letters but not the exit. It was hot to run around but I made it and finished 3rd at 11 mins with chris 1st with 9 mins and Rich 2nd.
Now all sweaty, we were ready to get wet in the Ogo ball.
We took turns going and the line was about 30 mins bc this large group went in front of us. It was a cool day and we knew we would be cold… But boy was this hose water freezing! It was ice cold.
It was surprisingly so much fun!!! I didn’t expect it to be so fun but it was even with the freezing water splashing on you. It was just a wild water ride and yes you get soaked.
To sum of the OGO experience, watch our clip of inside the ride. It’s not a scary as we made it seem. We were screaming like crazy because the water was so cold! I apologize for your bleeding ears in advance. Turn your volume down (or muting us) when we are in the ball because echo and girly high-pitch screaming is not a good combo and may explode your ears. .
Definitely try it out on a hot summer day and it won’t be as cold as our experience. It was a blast and without a doubt the best activity here. Don’t forget to bring a bathsuit or something to get wet, a towel and change of dry clothes. Arrive early!
