Last week, I rounded up my design school friends for a girls night at Re:Creative for a two hour jewelry making workshop. It was a good deal through teambuy, $15 for the class and the jewelry materials. The regular price is about $30.

There are a few workshop options you can pick to take such as necklaces, a clock and stationery but we signed up to make the thread wrapped bracelets.

It was fairly easy and Renee, the teacher was helpful. You basically measure the thread, tie a starter knot and just wrap away! At the end, you add the hardware. Just be careful when you measure to leave A LOT of thread… most of us ran out of thread and had to connect it with new thread.

Ta da! My final bracelet turned out quite well. I wanted more neon yellow but that color ran out on me and I couldn’t connect it again. Oh well.

It was a good chatty night with a group of friends. I didn’t realize these could be friendship bracelets, just like in elementary/middle school!
