Toronto’s Best Eats in 2012
At the beginning of 2012, I had set a goal to eat at all those restaurants I’ve heard good things about. I made a google map and started to eat at all these foodie destinations. Blue is my not yet tried, green is tried and good, yellow is mehhh and the red flame means HOLY GEEZ, it was good. I wanted to find out what are some quinessentials eats in toronto and its surrounding area. This blog entry summarizes my experiences and findings, mostly in Toronto.
The most memorable places in no particular order. This list comprises of my quinessentials and what I would recommended a toronto traveller. If I moved away from toronto and was in town for a few days, these would be the must-eat restaurants, I must have!
Burger Priest
Tastes like a healthier and real version of McDonald’s. Amazing and in my opinion, the best in Toronto. No, Holy Chucks doesn’t beat this place (although Chris says otherwise)
Stockyards
Their fried chicken and waffles was delicious. The chicken was soft and moistens with a flavorful crunchy outside. Must go back and try their Ribs!
Terroni
The first time I came here, I had the pasta and it was meh… That was until I had their pizza. Now I’m a regular! Their grilled calamari appetizer is soft yet chewy deliciousness and their panna cotta dessert is sooo creamy.
Pizzeria Libretto & Queen Margarita & Fabbrica
Get the Duck Confit pizza from Pizzera Libretto. Each pizza place serve authentic wood oven thin crust pizza which is remarkable. Everything tastes so well together and you are even excited to eat the crust.
Porchetta and Co.
Damn, if you want a delicious meaty sandwich. Go here and satisfy your need for pork. It was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had… ever.
Lai Wai Heen
I’ve heard that this place has really delicious and unique dimsum so I had to try it out. We went for the summerlicious menu but also order from the regular menu. Very good but the dimsum that won me over was their BBQ pastry. Sweet flakey shell with warm BBQ pork… Never had I had anything close to this level of dimsum.
Ravi Soups
They should be called Ravi wraps because their wraps are amazing! Soups are really good too but their wraps just blew me away. Get the beef wrap and soup combo.
Khoa San Road
Amazing Thai cuisine and a lively atmosphere. Their Thai iced tea is the best I’ve found in Toronto so far.
Santouka & Sansotei
Amazing japanese ramen shops. The best in Toronto and perfect for a cold day. Be prepared for lines though… People know it’s good.
Jacob’s and Co
Holy jeez, the best steakhouse I’ve ever had. The meat just tasted perfect. Amazing warm complimentary popovers and take away muffins for guest too. Pricy but worth it for the best steak I’ve ever had. Sorry, no photos as it was too dim in this fine dining establishment…
Butter Avenue
The best macaron in TO is from here. Tried Nadage, Petit Thuet, Bobbette and Belle and others, but this place tops them.

Let me know if you have a favorite must-eat place that I’ve never been too yet. As you can see my list still has many places I need to eat at. So much to eat… So little money… Once I redesign my blog, I should expand in my food section since I’ve become a bit obsessed with good food.
