Spring Bit Bazaar (Art+Video Games Fair)

Sabrina invited me to go to a Bazaar with her last saturday. I agreed since it was such a nice day and it would be nice to get out of the house. I had no idea to expect except that it was a Bazaar and Sabrina wanted to buy a dresser. I’m imagining some flea market or antique show… Little did I know, Sabrina had no clue either.

We got there and discovered this “Bit Bazaar” was an indie video games fair + art show. Confused at first… we just walk around but then ended up staying there for 2-3 hours trying a good chunk of the games. Everyone there was super nice and eager for you to try their game.

There were many great games but my two favourites were “Tenya Wanya Teens” and “Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime“.  “Tenya Wanya Teens” is a memory and random game using a custom joystick/button console. You compete with a friend and fight to get the most points. You get points by doing correct actions such as peeing, reading porn, catching fish in a bear costume, etc. You do these actions by pressing the coloured buttons but the button colours are moving! The graphics and colours are fun and cute (as expected by the same creator of Katamari Damacy).

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime involves driving a spaceship, killing enemies and saving bunnies with a friend. This was a hard game but they had me at the neon colours.

Ooooo Neon

Who knew?! It was so much fun and totally free! If you like video games and art, you should go! They should have another one in December so put it in your calendars.

OH! And check out Lisa Marie for an amazing dinner afterwards. Such fun interesting combination/fusion food that will melt any foodie’s tastebuds.
