[Mini-Trip] Linda’s Bachelorette
Apparently, people do read my posts! Sabrina and Linda both requested that I blog about this past weekend… My first request so I must deliver. Here it goes…
Linda, one of my oldest and best friend is getting hitched next month. So as one of the maids of honour, planning bachelorette is part of the job. Sandra, the other maid of honour and I started planning it back in April. We decided that since Linda was getting married at the Eglinton Grand, a red carpet theme would be appropriate and fun. We booked a chic condo at the TIFF festival towers (very fitting for the theme too!) on AirBnB. I designed the invitations and the decorations while Sandra figured out all the food. We even had a craft day to assemble the decor, which Sabrina generously helped too.

Sandra and I met up earlier to prep and decorate. It was great teamwork! The place looked amazing with all the decorations and food. We made it just in time for Linda’s arrival, of which Sabrina was driving her down. It was a complete surprise for her… She was like “Where are we?!” She had no idea and Sabrina told her we were going to a wax museum. She was even more confused when I opened the building’s garage with a key FOB. She questioned me,“What! Why do you have a FOB!?” I didn’t give her an answer but instead welcomed her into our unit where she was pleasantly surprised to see we rented a condo for the weekend. She loved the decorations and gave hugs all around. We already exceeded her expectations! And she still had no idea what we had in store for the weekend.
Our first activity was to hit the gym and go swimming —yes, one of linda’s and our favourite activities. The gym and pool were very nice amenities included at the condo. We went back upstairs to get ready and look glamorous. Joined by two other girls, Linh and Betty, we ate at Bloke and 4th for Summerlicious. It was good but nothing crazy impressive. It did have a larger than usual ‘Summerlicious’ portion. We chatted up a storm before heading back to the condo to celebrate with some fun, drinks and games.
I thought it would be fun to designed a “media wall” photobooth with some fun props. Linda posed with the props and took photos with each girl.
Then, Linda was shocked to find out I recorded Mike and got him to answer a bunch of questions. Each time she got one wrong, she would have to pick a truth or date from the cup or// perform the “mystery dare”. The questions were fairly simple like where did you first meet? Who is the better dancer? But she got most of them wrong!!! Even the 50/50 ones where the answer is either Linda or Mike. Works out for us! We enjoyed the entertainment as she answered the truths and performed the dares. My favourites included her Miss America speech, lap dance on Linh, #selfie Facebook photo, dirty talk and 15 seconds reenactment on Mike (HAHAHAH! That one was hilarious). However, none of them compared to the giggles of the “mystery dare” which involved eating a penis-shaped jello with no hands. Sandra did an amazing job with the coffee and coconut milk mixture to get it to a light skin tone.
We finished the game with some time to spare and take some more fun photos with the props.
We also enjoy the beautiful night view from our wraparound balcony. It was lovely and it just so happened the Pan Am games lit the sky up with fireworks so we watched those. We also took some beautiful photos on the balcony. I love these shots! These ladies are hot, hot, HOT!
By then, it was 11:00pm and we headed towards Uniun to dance the night away. It was so much fun! It was a nice club with a good mix of music and decent crowd. Linda was enjoying herself and apparently wasted, which is all that mattered!
We walked back to the condo and the streets were lively. We unwinded a bit, ate some snacks and looked at the photos we took earlier before calling it a night.

We cleaned up the condo and got breakfast ready. Sandra made us two delicious frittata for breakfast. We packed up and walked to Body Blitz Spa for a day of R&R. We followed their water circuit switching from hot salt pools, the cold plunge and sauna rooms. It was the perfect way to recover from a night of dancing.
It was about 6pm by time we were done and we headed to Kensington Market to see if can get tacos before Seven Lives closed. Alas, we were 10 minutes too late. Instead, Sabrina and I went to Millie Crepe to try their Japanese dessert crepes. It was tasty but I don’t know how it compares to the ones in Japan. I would go back though!
Next, we decided to go to Khao San Road for dinner before calling it a night and heading home.
It was blast hanging out with these girls for a weekend. I don’t think I’ve ever had a weekend getaway in Toronto so it was different from my other short jaunts but equally enjoyable. Linda was definitely surprised and very impressed. Everything went according to plan and even exceeded my expectations (Fireworks! The night balcony view!). I love these girls.
