[Trip] Ottawa, Mont Tremblant & Montreal

It’s now a tradition to go snowboarding on Family Day long weekend. This year, I was back at Mont Tremblant for the third time but with a larger group of close friends. Here is a quick highlights post.

Day 1 – Friday February 13, 2015

  • Ate lunch at Shawarma Palace. Just as delicious as I remember.
  • Skated the scenic Rideau Canal for the first time. As we skated, night fell and we saw the lamps posts light the way
  • Stopped at Cacao 70 for one the best hot chocolates I’ve had. Must go back for their desserts.

Day 2- Saturday February 14, 2015

  • Snowboarded with a pack of friends. I don’t think I’ve ever boarded in a group of 8 before but we did it. Practicing some basic jumps!
  • Enjoyed the hot tub and played some interesting games (Snow angels dares and Rock Paper Scissors loser stays out of the tub)
  • Discussed who we would kill and ally with if it was we were in hunger games with each other…and how that would change if we were in a zombie apocalypse.

Day 3 – Sunday February 15, 2015

  • Froze after our first run and had to warm up. It was -26!!!
  • Went on my first box (it was 1 inch off the group and 2’x4′)… 50% success rate!

Day 4 – Monday February 16, 2015

  • Ended up at L’avenue for brunch with no wait. Sameer’s eggs benedict’s significantly improved once he opened the poached egg to leak the yolk
  • Showed Sameer and Tania my Montreal food run. They were impressed with the Kouign Amman and Point G’s macarons.

An amazing weekend with some of my favourite people. I was happy to see them all enjoying themselves and having a good time too.
