Warrior Dash

Last weekend, I successfully completed a 5k run with 12 obstacles along the way. This race was a crazy run with steep up and down slopes, mud rivers to maneuver in and other random obstacles.

Many people wore crazy costumes such as Super Mario, tutus, etc. Chris and I just went normal but our friend made a pink fuzzy warrior outfit!

The day started out poorly as we woke up 1 hour late which meant we missed our 10:30 am start time. We got there as quickly as we could without any breakfast or water. Luckily, we just started with the next start wave because no one really checks!

Warrior Dash

The first obstacle was tough! Knee high thick mud we had to walk across… I thought I was going to lose my shoe but good thing I double knotted it. Next, was a dark low tent you crawl under. No problem! Then you keep running through some steep uphills… This was brutal and I just walked it.

Then, you hit a elastic web maze thing to get though. There was a mini wall to climb, a tire trail to “hop” though with junkyard cars, a bigger slope with rope to climb, two types of mesh netting to climb over, hay mountain to climb over and a short fire barrier to jump over. My favorite obstacle was this wet slip and slide. It was refreshing break but I had to myself along the way! The worst obstacle was this long uphill run, which everyone just walked up. It was directly under the sun and it’s so tiring!

The mud crawl at the end was tough and I was pretty muddy at the end but not as much as some crazy warrriors who took a face dive! The water and banana was excellent at the end and I know I could have pushed myself harder…

I finished at 8209 of 9800 and chris made it behind me! Yep, quite proud I made it under an hour and beat out-of-shape Chris! But still so lame… because I wanted to at least be in the median! Oh well next year.

All muddy, we went to the Warrior Wash to be hosed down by fireman! It was freezing and I screamed a bit. We cleaned up quite nice and met up with my other friends who either raced or racing later.

No warrior is complete without some grub! We ate a huge and delicious turkey leg and Chris finally got his long-awaited beavertails!

Getting that protein

We also got the chance to throw a axe into a target. I failed but Chris did it on his first try! What a awesome day! Everyone should try this and now I am determined to get stronger and do better next year!
