[Trip] Killington, Vermont
Another season, another new mountain. Lucky me, I didn’t have to plan anything because I was invited by a friend, Cammy and new friend, Donald was the host. I also got to meet alot of fresh faces. These guys are skilled… So fast! I’m eating their snow dust but they were always sweet enough to wait for me at the bottom.

We left Mississauga around 3am and arrived 6pm with some stops in between. The “party bus” was a massive 12 person van…with this impressive custom on-board entertainment that the event host, Donald made. CRAZY! I was passed out for most of the ride though.

These guys are eager and intense. First tracks with a fully cooked breakfast. Naturally, I tagged along with the group. We went up the summit and saw a breath-taking view of low clouds hover over the mountains.
First run was a double black. Crazy… Well it was a “smallish” double black but still! We did more runs and man, I’ve never been so tired –maybe from the wipeouts or carving harder on steeper terrain. It was awesome that the 12 of us all somewhat stuck together.
I needed a lunch break… These intense guys were gonna plow through it with just powerbars. After lunch, I did a few more runs before heading back with the group and relaxing in the hot tub.
Dinner was funny, we planned to order in but ended up going to Applebee’s when the restaurant rejected our takeout order. Then I mindlessly forgot my purse there. Freaked out at the chalet… Ran around until Donald laughed at me and said he grabbed it I just left. Anthony and him were trying to prompt me to look for it too by letting me open the door with the room key (which was in my jacket pocket) and then paying me back in cash so I’d look for it.

First tracks yet again but the conditions were a little more icy and cold. We went down a few runs before I hit up my first park with Gordon, Benny and Ringo. Yes, there were wipeouts but also some success! It was fun. Gordon go-pro’d it all and also recorded some AMAZING footage with awesome directions — one-after-another carving and line formation. Too cool.
Here is the final cut Gordon put together… so awesome
I ended the runs with a tasty sugar waffle (the Beavertails of the US) and watch movies for the drive home. What a short but great getaway! I met some fun and very nice people who are inspiring me to snowboard faster and more confidently. Until next season…
